Trigeminal System: The Trigeminal ganglion and related nerves are the key to helping people suffering from virtually any kind of headache. Have any of your other headache doctors or specialists told you this?  Did they tell you how to correct the abnormalities in your Trigeminal System?

Two tests that are essential for people trying to find an answer to their head pain. The first one is a comprehensive food sensitivity test, the other one is for urinary neuro-transmitters.  The first is a blood test that helps you to identify and  eliminate trigger foods that start your headaches. The second can show you how months or years of head pain have created imbalances in the chemistry of your brain.  Only then can you create an individualized approach to the reduction or elimination of your headaches.

If you have any type of headache you have abnormal function in a part of the brain stem called the trigeminal complex (TC). In fact all pain in the head including even pain from a bad tooth or TMJ pain is related to this system. The TC attaches through nerves to the forehead, the checks, the jaw and the base of the skull. It also connects to the blood vessels inside the brain.  The distribution of the nerves running from the TC throughout the head explains why you may have pain behind your eye, pressure in your face, muscle spasms at the base of your skull and other associated symptoms with your headache. The TC is located in the brainstem very near another nerve complex called the vagal nuclei. This controls the GI track and is connected to the TC.  This connection is why many patients with severe headaches also get nauseated. As if this is not complicated enough, all these nerve connections are associated with chemicals called neurotransmitters. There are hundreds of different chemical interactions that also occur in the TC. That is why testing for neurotransmitter levels in headache patients is so important. This can be done with a simple urine test. Comprehensive headache care is what we are all about. Check out the information in following pages and see for yourself.
